Theme 6 Industry skills development

Theme 6 incorporates the obligation for an education and training component under the guidelines of the CRC Programme. For the Australian rail industry, education and training is a critical and timely issue. The industry as a whole is suffering from a well-documented skills shortage and an aging workforce. The aim of this program is to address the skills shortage and meet the industry’s current and future education and training needs.

Objectives:

  • To overcome industry’s shortage in skilled specialists
  • To improve rail efficiency by improving the skills of managers, engineers and specialists
  • To facilitate efficient information exchange
