The project's aim was to deliver suitable dynamic models that could
be used to simulate the complex behaviours of rail vehicles, to
support the development and implementation of on-board real-time
monitoring of the dynamic behaviour of vehicles on railway tracks
(Project 2).
Matlab was used to develop the dynamic model, and while the project
has provided valuable information, it is not clear it should be
further developed to be used within Project 2.
Progress to Date:
- Experimental models (linear ARX model and non-linear neural network
models) developed.
- SISO (Single Input Single Output) and MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple
Output) ARX models have been developed from experimental data with
satisfactory level of acceptance (80-95% fit of model output with
experimental output).
- The project results will be used in Project 148 for the development
of a software product.
